Appearance: Chestnut Brown
Nose: Toast and Spice take the lead with notes of oak and light pepper, before merging with glazed vanilla and freshly baked donuts. A light cherry sweetness aided by subtle tobacco.
Palate: A subtle hint of cherry welcomes the tastes before transitioning into a mix of tobacco and rye. A bold toasty quality holds true in both flavor and the body while adding in bits of honey, pepper, and sugar. Deep but mellow notes of caramel and oak begin to emerge near the end of your taste.
Finish: Honey with a syrupy mouth feeling begins to emerge as your taste dissipates. Peppered spice continues to play on the lips while tobacco and walnut hold strong on the tongue before transitioning into a final taste of vanilla, caramel, and rye.

Appearance: Golden Mahogany
Nose: A hint of pepper surprises you initially before leaving way for caramel and mellow vanilla. A deep scent of corn and grain holds throughout along with welcomed notes of sweet tobacco and wheat cereal.
Palate: An initial hit of honey welcomes the taste but quickly transitions into a leathery mouth feel complimented with the spices of clove and pepper. Deep notes of baked caramel and candied nuts work their way up from the background while the grain holds true throughout the taste with a cereal like character.
Finish: The leathered body continues into the finish before changing over to notes of toasted oak and burnt sugar. Light pepper continues now aided by a light cinnamon and ever so subtle vanilla. These characteristics continue to play on your palate and hold strong well after your sip.

Nose: A deep rye and grain smell takes the nose along with pecan and cinnamon. Toasted Caramel complemented with tobacco comes through on the second half before being aided by light notes of candy and vanilla.
Palate: A mellow leather takes hold of the taste along with deep notes of caramel and spices like brown sugar and pepper. A honey-like sweetness cuts through, along with the subtle aid of vanilla creating a medium to light body with bold but not overpowering rye character that holds over throughout the taste.
Finish: The honey continues to dance on the tongue while bringing back the notes of tobacco we found on the nose. The rye holds true aiding the notes of pepper and caramel creating a leathery and sweet mouth feel that holds well after your taste.

Mad Angler® Bourbon, Rye, and Bottled in Bond are grown from grain on the Iron Fish farm and other farmsteads around Michigan, Mad Angler spirits are aged at least four years. The name is inspired by the writings of Northern Michigan poet Michael Delp and reflects our love and commitment to preserving our region’s watersheds.
