Iron Fish Distillery, Michigan’s first farm distillery, is growing and we are on the lookout for the right people to join our team. Iron Fish Distillery operates on a working farm, growing grain and creating distinctively distilled, hand produced and bottled whiskeys, vodkas, gins, rums and specialty liquors. Every step of the process, from soil-to-spirit occurs on our 119 acre, environmentally certified, end-destination farm.

BARTENDER & SERVER (Full and Part Time)

An Iron Fish Bartender must be comfortable in conversation, enjoy people, and have a deep interest in farm-to-table or the local food and beverage movement.  A background in craft cocktails or mixology is a plus.  We are passionate about our story, our products and our farm and  look for candidates who feel the same.   As a destination business, be prepared to  work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends (including holiday weekends) and lead informed tastings to customers. Bartenders also maintain bar inventories, assist in bar prep, maintain a perfect cash drawer, and must be meticulous about bar cleanliness. The most important trait for an Iron Fish Bartender & Server is help our guests learn about and explore the farm-to-glass process.

IFD Bartender & Server Requirements

  • Prior service industry experience, or prior bartending experience
  • Interest and/or knowledge of mixology and cocktail development
  • Comfortable in social situations, at ease with engaging the public and an outgoing personality
  • Passion for and interest in learning more about the local farm to table movement and craft spirits essential.
  • Be able to work effectively and efficiently with a variety of different people and in various different work environments/situations
  • Familiarity with POS (eg. Square), scheduling and office management systems essential
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull or push up to 50lbs

Events And Ground Crew pOSITION (Part Time) 

A positive attitude and outgoing personality are traits helpful for Iron Fish Event and Ground Crew members, where each day brings different guests, vendors, contractors, wedding parties, or concert goers to Iron Fish Distillery and our historic and fully renovated barn venue. 

Events and Ground Crew Requirements

  • Grounds maintenance, lawn mowing, snow clearing, brush disposal.
  • Move furniture, set up tables, chairs, stages, podiums, boxes, bins, tents, decorations and displays.
  • Assist our Events Coordinator with event needs, setting up changes as requested
  • Comfortable in social situations, at ease with engaging the public and an outgoing personality
  • Be able to work effectively and efficiently with a variety of different people and in various different work environments/situations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic tools, and a background in basic carpentry and or small engine repair desired. 
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull or push up to 50lbs
